Tim Solinger
Owner/Consultant
Tim Solinger is a consultant, writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in career services, marketing and publishing. He owns and operates Full Sail Resume – Career Services & More, LLC, a multifaceted communications consultancy located in Thiensville, Wis., focused primarily on career services but also offering assistance with marketing, publicity and content development needs as well.
As a provider of career services, Tim assists clients with needs that include resumes, LinkedIn profiles and interview coaching to enable them to better define and articulate their unique value to employers. In working with clients, he uses proven strategies and techniques that have helped many clients secure interviews and job offers. He is especially experienced at helping individuals with goals and situations that include advancement opportunities, career changes including “encore” or second careers at retirement, and overcoming career challenges such as layoffs and terminations.
Tim is a Certified Professional Resume Writer with the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches and is an approved career services provider with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. He has created and presented seminars, workshops and instructional programs on resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile development, and interviewing at several Wisconsin technical college campuses. He has also served as a guest resume reviewer at job fairs and other career events.
In addition to his background in career services, Tim has worked as a marketing communications consultant, writer and editor, providing brand strategy, marketing and publicity services to clients in the education, manufacturing, software, transportation, logistics and publishing industries. Past clients include Bruker AXS, eChalk, Esker, H.O. Wolding, Imagination Publishing, Innovative Management Tools, Magna Publications, Optima Associates, Paradigm Learning, Prophit, Renaissance Learning, Skyward, SPS Commerce and West End Consulting. His articles have appeared in general business and vertical market publications that include Business Matters, Central Wisconsin Business, Corporate Report Wisconsin, Industrial Hygiene News, PM Network, Quirk’s Marketing Research Review and Workers’ Comp Cost Control Report.
Tim has also worked as a book editor, assisting authors with creating nonfiction works on various leadership, management and historical subjects. He has served as the editor of published books that include The Dignity-Based Franchise by Joe Kiedinger, Boomerang! Leadership Principles That Bring the Customer Back by Dave Skogen, and An Accidental Jewel, Wisconsin’s Turtle-Flambeau Flowage by Michael Hittle. Earlier in his career, he worked for six years as an editor at J.J. Keller & Associates, a safety and compliance publisher and solutions provider, where he edited a number of guides and manuals on workplace safety and environmental compliance.
A holder of a bachelor’s degree in English and a secondary teaching certificate from the University of Iowa, Tim previously taught language arts at Mount Vernon Community High School in Mount Vernon, Iowa, as well as writing for the workplace through the continuing education division at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley in Menasha, Wis. He is a past recipient of a Gold Award in the Hermes Creative Awards competition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
